With most guitar cases, the guitar has room to rattle around inside this one, however, is perfectly fitted to the guitar body. This is a beautiful, wonderful guitar, and will provide you with many decades of pride and love of playing it. For one of these beautiful guitars. This guitar was released as acoustic only, but the original owner my mother had a fisherman acoustic matrix pickup installed at the time of purchase.

This makes for a lovely and rare guitar that you can buy for much less than you would ordinarily have to pay, and that you won't be treating so much with kid gloves, and you won't be nearly so heartbroken when it gets its inevitable first ding. However, the repair is not invisible.

This model came with a red cedar top, which makes for a much mellower and warmer sound than traditional spruce. Top red cedar back sides flamed KIA fret board and bridge ebony binding solid rosewood with celluloid accents abalone body edge, sound hole, and fingerboard inlays. It did not go all the way through, though, and was not deemed necessary to repair.

I like to think that 50 of 100 is the perfect number to buy. The pickup does require an internally mounted battery, but otherwise is pretty invisible. At that point enough had been built that they really knew what they were doing when they built this one, but not so many that they were tired of building them.

Not hard enough to do any serious damage, but enough to put a small hole near the edge on the lower bout, and a ding right next to the binding on the upper bout. This is an important feature as it can prevent damage to the guitar while it is in the case, but it is something that is very rarely seen.

Please refer to the pictures. Many consider the time when this was made to be the golden era of Taylor guitars. The ding on the upper bout is small but a bit deep.

The padding fits snugly and securely around all sides of the guitar, holding it completely immobile within the case. It is an auditorium style, which in size is not really that far from a jumbo, and is, to my eyes, far more appealing than the shape of a plain and boring old dreadnought.

Number 50 of the case for this guitar is one of the nicest I have seen. This guitar is in almost perfect condition except for a couple things somewhere along the line the top got smacked by the case lid. But back when this guitar was made, Taylor took the idea of book matching seriously.
