Since only 800 were made more than 40 years ago, the supply of those left in excellent and mint condition will continue to dwindle over time, and these pieces will become increasingly super rare and hard to find, causing the value to continue to appreciate as it has been exponentially over the last few decades. The scale length is on a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard with 14 frets clear of the body and 20 frets in total. They are full sounding guitars unlike the dean guitar attempt at a similar model, dean's model leaving a tremendous amount to be desired. There were only 800 of these guitars built in the early 1980, and some of these made it to the USA not many were metallic sapphire blue.

Initially it was marketed as the acoustic flying v but allegedly Gibson took exception to this and so such references were dropped. Construction is solid spruce top with rosewood back and sides. These guitars are double bound and have a beautiful binding tradition running vertically right down the middle back. Rarest of the rare.

I personally purchased this guitar in 1984, but never played it in my band. Comes with original flight case and a brand new set of strings. This is an incredible instrument and a great investment at the same time. Also, a v standing on its end and with a sound hole does resemble a big fat capital letter a, so the guitar instead became nicknamed the flying.

The Japanese guitar manufacturer based in , u, japan, were forerunners circa 1978 in the introduction of elector acoustic guitars and were pioneers of the design of the preamps equalizer in these guitars. It is very gently used for a few practice sessions only, and thus is in near mint condition. These are as full sounding as a dreadnought or concert size acoustic guitar.
