The Rainsong B6FT is a premium acoustic-electric guitar designed specifically for bluegrass musicians. Its distinctive features, performance, and value merit a thoughtful consideration for those seeking a high-quality instrument for this genre. In this analysis, we will discuss the main pros and cons of buying a Rainsong B6FT bluegrass dreadnought model, followed by a concluding recommendation.
**Pros:**1. Superior craftsmanship: Rainsong uses only the finest A-grade tonwood and solid Sitka spruce tops for their guitars. The solid wood construction enhances the resonance and sustain of each note played, delivering a clear and rich tone that is highly desirable in bluegrass music.
2. Advanced tonal projection and definition: The B6FT model features ChromaCast truss rods, which help optimize the guitar's intonation and prevent continued bowing under string tension. Additionally, the guitar's taper design enables superior sound projection, making it perfect for live performances or studio recordings.
3. Reduced maintenance requirements: Rainsong's proprietary tonwood finish makes this guitar virtually maintenance-free, as it does not require frequent tuning, re-fretting, or any other adjustments commonly associated with traditional wooden guitars.
4. Versatility: The B6FT is not only ideal for bluegrass but also offers excellent tonal qualities for various playing styles and genres. With its pirate bone nut and saddle, grover tuning keys, and K&K Pure Mini pickup system, it can cater to the demands of diverse audiences.
**Cons:**1. Higher investment: Compared to traditional wooden acoustic guitars, the Rainsong B6FT comes at a significantly higher price point. This may be a barrier for entry for some musicians who are just starting their journey in bluegrass music.
2. Limited customization options: Although Rainsong offers various models, their guitars have fixed configurations. Musicians seeking a more customizable instrument might find this limiting.
3. Weight: The Rainsong B6FT is slightly heavier than equivalent wooden dreadnought guitars due to its reinforced materials. This may be a concern for some musicians, especially during extended performances or transportation.
**Conclusion:**The Rainsong B6FT acoustic-electric guitar is an excellent investment for bluegrass musicians who demand superior craftsmanship, advanced tonal characteristics, and minimal maintenance requirements. Although it comes at a higher price point and has a few limitations compared to conventional wooden guitars, its benefits significantly outweigh the cons. For those who can appreciate its unique qualities and desire a premium, versatile guitar that complements the intricacies of bluegrass music, the Rainsong B6FT is an exceptional choice. Get ready to elevate your playing and captivate your audience with this notable instrument.
**Recommendation:**Based on our analysis, we highly recommend the Rainsong B6FT acoustic-electric bluegrass dreadnought model to professionals, serious enthusiasts, and advanced hobbyists who are committed to bringing their bluegrass performances to the next level. It offers the perfect blend of traditional acoustic tone and modern conveniences, ensuring versatility and longevity.
I got this guitar off of the carbon guitar forum some 4 years ago when mannishly guitars in salt lake city sponsored that forum. I m selling off some of my massive collection so this one is going. Has the n2 neck, 12 frets to the body and 25 inch scale.
Not a thing wrong here and I can't stress enough what a great sounding playing guitar this is. This has front, back sides all of the unidirectional fine textured carbon. This had a truss rod as well for further adjustment. This is the lightest carbon guitar of any maker I have played or owned and i've owned over a dozen carbon guitars at least.
Case is almost like new as I never gigged with this guitar only recorded so everything is tip top shape. It loud proud and very wood y sounding like a bluegrass dreadnought guitar should be. Super easy to play and plenty of saddle height if you would like to adjust further. I suspect this was a custom ordered guitar as it has the original owners name inside on the label.
You are looking at my Rainsong bluegrass B6FT acoustic electric guitar. Electronics are fisherman prefix and sound really nice with this guitar.
This is their lightest composition material that they use and mimics the tight grain of spruce. On YouTube lookup Rainsong bluegrass or Rainsong bg guitar and you'll find a couple of really great reviews and they go over some of the specs as well. This thing sounds huge and will impress any dread lover.
I will only sell this guitar in the lower 48 USA.
