They have no effect on the case functionality. Tuners work perfect. And tuned to e and the action is amazing.
Pickup and electronics work great. Apparently the previous owner wore a ring and played a lot of open chords. I can send a pic. One minor chip at top of head stock about 2mm 1/2 size of BB.
Up for buying is this absolutely stunning 1991 Ovation 1758 elite model's with pickup and headcase. The 4 little case buttons feet at the bottom are missing broken. There are some grooves on the first couple frets so a light dressing might be in the future but honestly it tunes perfect and I don't think it needs it.
No unusual humps or stress on the area behind the bridge. Finish is super shiny with no issues.
They're a little tarnished I also opened the back and see no repair or crack from the underside see pic. I also notice what at 1st glance appeared to be a crack behind the bridge see pic but I feel absolutely no break in the finish. I put new strings on it had them in drawer for years.
What I do see is some wear on the back of the neck at the 1st fret see pic. Guitar plays awesome. I think many people tune toad capo 2.
