The 1619 Acoustic-Electric Guitar, modeled after the 1981 Legend Series, is a masterpiece from Taylor Guitars that married the classic aesthetic of vintage instruments with modern technology. While it retains the timeless appealed of an acoustic guitar, the 1619 also offers the versatility of a plug-and-play electric guitar. In this detailed description, we will delve deeper into its exquisite design, superior playability, and exceptional sound quality.
Design:This Legend series acoustic-electric guitar pays homage to the 1981 original with its unique combination of a solid Sitka spruce top and layered walnut back and sides. The walnut back and sides not only offer a visually stunning appearance but also contribute to its sturdy construction and robust tone. The guitar features a Venetian-cutaway design that grants players access to the upper frets with ease, perfect for those intricate solos and melodies. The elegant details, such as the cream-colored binding, tortoiseshell pickguard, and deluxe rosette, elevate the aesthetics of the 1619 model.
Playability:In terms of playability, the 1619 Acoustic-Electric guitar boasts a thick yet fast neck profile, making it a joy to play for professionals and beginners alike. The Taylor Guitars' Elixir strings produce a warm, vibrant tone while reducing the need for frequent string changes. The AG425ce-12 ebony fretboard with its 16-inch radius and 20 frets further ensures comfortable playability and a pleasing feel for the fingers.
Sound Quality:The sound quality of the 1619 Acoustic-Electric Guitar is unparalleled. The solid Sitka spruce top, in concert with the layered walnut back and sides, generates a rich, well-balanced sound with notable brightness and punch. Together with the Expression System 2 electronics, the 1619 allows players to deliver their spectacular performances live on stage while retaining the authentic tone of their acoustic guitar. This advanced micro-system is sensitive to the slightest changes in the guitar's tone and provides a seamless volume control and live-sound fan tone control.
Additional Features:Adding to its impressive features, the 1619 comes with a Taylor hardshell case to ensure the protection of your instrument when transporting it from one gig to the next. The guitar also includes a reversed three-ring rosette, chrome tuning machines, and a satin finish in a beautiful tobacco sunburst color.
Conclusion:The 1619 Acoustic-Electric Guitar, part of the Legend Series 1981 Model from Taylor Guitars, is an alluring instrument that artfully balances the classic charm of a vintage guitar with the cutting-edge technology of a modern, versatile instrument. The stunning design, remarkable playability, and magnificent sound make it an incomparable addition to any musician's collection.

It is unbelievable for its age as you can see from the photos. Hate to see this one go, but dramatically downsizing my collection. And it is in mint, and I mean really mint condition.
Steak spruce top with a carved walnut bridge, resin bowl side and back, and has an ebony fret board with ivory binding. None of that on this guitar. So many of these have bridge problems, develop a belly in the top, cracks in the finish, etc.
1981 Ovation custom legend 1619 acoustic electric guitar. Serial number mint condition with custom sound hole cover this guitar is from my personal collection.
