The Larrivee PV09-re is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and artistic design, making it a standout addition to Guitar Parlor's exclusive collection of high-end acoustic guitars. This exquisite musical instrument combines the rich heritage of traditional guitar making with contemporary innovation, delivering an unparalleled playing experience for discerning musicians.
At the heart of the PV09-re's magnificent construction lies its solid Sitka spruce top. The top is expertly braced with scalloped aesthetic X-bracing, which provides both tonal clarity and structural integrity. Sitka spruce is renowned for its ability to produce a responsive and balanced soundboard, delivering a range of tones that are both bright and articulate.
The back and sides of the Larrivee PV09-re are crafted from fine quartersawn western bigleaf maple. This not only provides the guitar with a visually stunning appearance, but the tonally dense and resonant wood also contributes to the instrument's powerful and defined bottom end. The guitar's neck is made of highly-respected Honduran mahogany, ensuring a comfortable and stable playing experience, while the combined radius of 16 inches on the ebony fingerboard and bone nut provide optimal playability.
The Larrivee PV09-re's hardware consists of precisely engineered components designed for functionality and aesthetic appeal. The Gotoh 510 Royal tuning machines allow carefree tuning and precise pitch control, while the Tusq XL nut and synchronized bone saddle contribute to the guitar's performing excellence. The solid ebony bridge, infused with string tension and transferring the vibrations of the strings directly to the body, guarantees an even and efficient transfer of energy for superior tone and sustain.
This high-end acoustic guitar features a beautifully detailed body binding, which frames the solid top, back, and sides in elegant sophistication. The binding, made from premium quality abalone, complements the understated elegance of the guitar's black body finish. The rosette on the Larrivee PV09-re is similarly adorned with meticulously hand-installed, custom cream-colored mother of pearl inlays, which contrast beautifully against the ebony fingerboard and bridge.
The Larrivee PV09-re comes complete with a deluxe hardshell case to ensure safe and secure transportation and storage for your cherished guitar. Treat yourself to the enchanting and inspiring sound of this magnificent instrument and elevate your playing experience to new heights. With its breathtaking design, exceptional craftsmanship, flawless performance, and desirable features, the Larrivee PV09-re is truly a rare gem in the world of acoustic guitars.

Pros of Larrivee PV09:1. Exceptional Tonality: Larrivee guitars are renowned for their balanced and clear tone, which makes the PV09 an excellent choice for fingerstyle and solo performances.
2. Versatile Playability: The slightly shorter scale length of the parlor-sized body (24.9 inches) and the thin, fast neck make the PV09 an ideal choice for players with smaller hands or those who prefer a more compact guitar treasurecoast fishing.
3. High-Quality Craftsmanship: Each Larrivee guitar is handcrafted in the company's Canadian shop, meaning buyers can expect a precision-built instrument with attention to detail.

Cons of Larrivee PV09:1. Price: The Larrivee PV09 and PV09-RE are high-end guitars with a price tag that reflects their premium quality. These guitars may not be within the budget of some potential buyers.
2. Bridge Placement: Some players find the bridge placement on the PV09 slightly towards the soundhole, which can make reaching higher frets more challenging for those with longer fingers or playing barre chords.
3. Limited Availability: Due to their handcrafted nature, Larrivee guitars have a limited production capacity, and the PV09 series might not be readily available in all stores or online.
Conclusive Recommendation:If you are a serious, dedicated guitarist who prizes superior craftsmanship, exceptional tonal quality, and a comfortable playability, the Larrivee PV09 or PV09-RE parlor guitars deserve a spot on your shortlist of potential further investigations.
These high-end instruments deliver a unique playing experience and are suitable for fingerstyle and solo performances. While their premium price may be a challenge for some buyers, investing in a Larrivee guitar could indeed be a valuable, long-term decision that enhances your musical journey.
Ultimately, the decision to purchase the Larrivee PV09 or the Larrivee PV09-RE should be based on personal preferences, budget, and the specific requirements for your playing style.
I am including the saddle that was on the guitar when I got it.
The design includes a cutaway and built in pickup. The frets are in excellent shape with no real wear at all. The guitar finish is glossy which really accentuates the rosewood and spruce. There are some markings from pick usage on the pick guard.
It is a top of the line Larrivee 09 series. I am the second owner of this beautiful parlor guitar. The Larrivee 09 series guitars are at the top of the Larrivee line and the wood selected for this guitar show it. I did replace the saddle with a tusk unit as the included saddle seemed to be worn from the strings.
Really a stunning piece. It includes a spruce top, rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and bridge. It is a factory installed unit. There are no dings, scratches or gouges.
The guitar is in excellent condition. The sound is very balanced coming off the strings and the sustain is rather remarkable. A Larrivee fitted case is included and is in good shape showing a few small bumps and dings but no tears or rips in the covering.
Binding is all maple.
