This particular model, with the model year dated at 1985, showcases the exceptional craftsmanship and tonal qualities that Guild is renowned for. Let's dive into the details of this captivating instrument.

Body & Construction:

At the heart of the Guild FS-46CE lies its solid spruce top, providing excellent structural integrity and an impressive resonance that enhances dynamic sound and projection. The top is perfectly coupled with a solid mahogany back and sides, which guarantees a rich, powerful, and warm tone. The solid construction results in enhanced sustain and clarity, benefiting both the player and the audience.

The FS-46CE is outfitted with a mahogany neck that offers a fast and comfortable playing experience with a classic D shape. The spread of the nut measures 1.687 inches, allowing for seamless transitions between frets. The tonewood fingerboard, which is also made of mahogany, adds to the overall tonal quality and is usually marked with pearloid dot inlays for ease of navigation on the fretboard.

Hardware & Electronics:

In terms of hardware, this guitar comes equipped with a tortoise shell pickguard and a modern Tune-o-matic style bridge with a graphtech synthetic bone saddle. This bridge provides improved intonation accuracy and minimizes string sag, ensuring that every note rings clear and true. The FS-46CE features a sophisticated pre-amp system, which consists of a proprietary Guild activerystem. It includes a volume control, a treble and bass cut control, and a phase switch, providing a perfect balance between sound quality and amplification.

Additional Features:

This acoustic-electric guitar packs several appealing features that add to its allure. For one, it boasts a beautiful sunburst finish that exhibits both classic and contemporary appeal. No detail has been overlooked on this instrument; fine Grover tuners, white plastic buttons, and a 5-ply bound body that adds an attractive visual touch, rounding out the FS-46CE's appearance.

In conclusion, the Guild FS-46CE solidbody acoustic-electric guitar from 1985 represents a marvel of vintage craftsmanship and exceptional tonal quality. This guitar is not just an instrument for playing music, but a lovingly curated blend of tradition and innovation, making it a cherished piece for both hobbyists and professional musicians alike.

Details:

Overall this guitar is in great shape. Its vintage folks and anything this old could need a minor tune up. Guitar has volume and tone controls on the upper bout as you can see. As with any guitar that been sitting in storage it going to need new strings and set up.

Guitar is very clean for its age. The guitar has minor superficial dings, scratches, wear and tear around various parts of the guitar. Been in storage for decades.

The parlor are desirable because they are great sounding smaller guitar perfect for the office, bedroom and living room. This one has low action and nice tight playing feel to it.

Everything is stock to the guitar and it plays works wonderfully. The frets are in excellent condition and everything works.

I use parcel post on most items. Solid wood very much like a fender or Gibson quality. Typical of a guitar of this age. Excellent design and original looking.

I will do my best to work out any issues. Perfect acoustic electric guitar that actually works live. Sound thick and creamy.

They are well made acoustic guitars as well. Great sounding guitar both unplugged and live. Secret weapon here.

All relatively light wear and tear.
