Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar: An Ideal Blend of Tradition and Technology

It's a thrilling encounter when you come across a musical instrument that truly embodies the perfect fusion of tradition and modern technology. Witness the Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar, a magnificent example of Gibson's masterclass craftsmanship and innovative spirit.

The Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar is an elegant and versatile instrument, whose timeless design harks back to the company's storied past while simultaneously offering the convenience of modern amplification. Originated from the revered J-190 model, the J-190E boasts a rich heritage that has captivated generations of musicians.

Specially engineered with a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, this guitar offers an exquisite tonal palette. Sitka spruce top provides an ideal balance between strength and flexibility, ensuring the J-190E delivers a robust and articulate sound. In contrast, mahogany back and sides contribute a powerful depth, notable presence, and impressive sustain.

Designed with a modified '30s rounded body depth, the J-190E sports a comfortable playing experience perfect for both stage and studio performances. The rectangle-14 fret neck is made of mahogany and capped with a richlite fingerboard, which produces an unparalleled touch and feel. Additionally, the D-shaped neck profile provides effortless playability and suits various playing styles.

Equipped with a modern Gibson ES-T pickup and an onboard Rosewood bridge, the J-190E delivers plug-and-play amplification. This state-of-the-art pickup ensures a clear, nuanced representation of your playing, capturing every subtle detail and delivering it through your amplifier or PA system.

Boasting an attractive Gloss nitrocellulose finish in natural or ebony, this 6-string workhorse flaunts its vintage appeal while encasing its solid, tonewood core. Moreover, its premium hardshell case guarantees the ultimate protection during transportation and storage.

For those who crave the authentically rich, resonant sound of a classic acoustic guitar with the flexibility and power that comes with modern electronics, the Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar stands as an extraordinary, timeless choice.

Becoming the precious addition to your musical arsenal, the J-190E delivers extraordinary versatility, playing an essential role in expanding your creative potential. Whether you're a seasoned artist performing live or a budding musician recording demos, the J-190E promises to be your loyal companion on your musical journey.

The Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a popular model in Gibson's lineup of electric-acoustic guitars. This guitar offers a unique blend of traditional acoustic sound and modern electric capability. Here are some pros and cons to help you decide if this guitar is the right one for you.

Pros:

1. Authentic Gibson Sound: The J-190E delivers the rich, powerful sound that Gibson is known for. Its solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and mahogany neck provide a full-bodied tone.

2. Electric Capability: The built-in Fishman Sonitone pickup system allows you to plug in and play through an amplifier, giving you greater control over your sound and making it ideal for live performances or recording sessions.

3. Versatility: The J-190E can be used both as an acoustic guitar and an electric one, making it a versatile instrument that can adapt to different playing styles and settings.

4. Playability: Gibson's neck shape and proportion is known for its comfort and ease of play. The 24.75-inch scale length and 1.72-inch nut width provide a good balance between ease of play and tonal response.

Cons:

1. Price: The Gibson J-190E is a more expensive option compared to other acoustic-electric guitars from different brands. Its high-end construction and premium features come at a premium price.

2. Weight: The solid wood construction and larger body size of the J-190E contribute to its heavier weight, which can make it less desirable for some players, particularly those with back or shoulder pain.

3. Setup and Maintenance: Given its premium features, the J-190E may require more frequent setup and maintenance than some other guitars. This includes adjusting the truss rod, intonation, and string height.

In conclusion, the Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar offers a rich, authentic sound, versatility, and modern electric capability. Its premium features and high-end construction come at a premium price, and its heavier weight could be a concern for some players. Ultimately, if you're looking for a professional-grade acoustic-electric guitar with a classic Gibson sound, the J-190E could be an excellent investment.

Recommendation:

If you're interested in the Gibson J-190E Acoustic-Electric Guitar, I would recommend trying it out in person before making a purchase. This will allow you to assess the feel, sound, and overall quality of the instrument. If you're unable to try it out in person, consider reading reviews from other players, watching videos, and researching the guitar extensively before making a decision. Additionally, consider your budget, playing style, and experience level when deciding if the Gibson J-190E is the right guitar for you.

Details:

These are fairly rare so they don't come up very often. To the lower 48. I'm selling it used, but the guitar has maybe been played an hour.

I will insure the guitar for the full purchase price. I bought it new 2007 from rocker guitars in San Francisco. It has a lace sensor pickup in the neck position like a j160e and a Puzo pickup under the bridge and a toggle switch to blend them.

This is a 2001 Gibson J190EC. The plastic tab is still in the locking latch, so you can set the combination to whatever you want.
