They usually have a minor cosmetic finishing flaw that prevents them from being sold as new instruments.
Apart from the defect listed they are perfect, all electronics, pickups, tuners, neck and frets etc. These guitars are often sold at hundreds of dollars less than their 'new' counterparts.
Factory 2nd guitars are deemed as such directly from the manufacturer and have never been previously sold in retail or distributed to a music store. Each instrument gets set up and checked by me before it is released for sale.
