Review GARRISON Acoustic Electric Guitar Check Those Woodamazing

The AGD-300-CE Garrison acoustic-electric guitar is a remarkable instrument that offers a perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology. This guitar is not just an instrument but a precise symphony of sound and style. Let's delve deeper into its technical specifications, starting with the materials used in its construction.

The top of the AGD-300-CE is crafted from solid Sitka spruce, a tonewood famous for its ability to produce a wide dynamic range and bright, clear tone. The sides and back of the guitar are made from laminated mahogany, which adds warmth and resonance to the sound. Mahogany is also known for its sturdy build and attractive grain pattern, making this guitar a visual delight.

Moving on to the neck, the AGD-300-CE features a neck made of mahogany, topped with a Walnut fingerboard. This combination not only ensures a smooth playing experience but also contributes to the overall tonal quality of the guitar. The neck has a scale length of 25.5 inches, with a nut width of 1.687 inches, making it comfortable for most hand sizes.

The AGD-300-CE comes with a versatile dual-source pickup system, allowing you to switch between a built-in tuner, notch filter, phase switch, and volume control for the under-saddle piezo pickup or engage the onboard preamp with a piezo-acoustic or a built-in condenser microphone for the undersaddle pickup. This feature makes it an ideal choice for both live performances and studio recordings.

The guitar has a total length of 41 inches with a body depth of 4.5 inches, ensuring a comfortable playing experience for most players. Moreover, it comes with a traditional dreadnought shape, which provides a rich and full-bodied sound. The AGD-300-CE also features a standard 6-string configuration, with chromed die-cast tuning machines that help keep your strings in tune.

In summary, the AGD-300-CE Garrison acoustic-electric guitar is an exceptional instrument that offers a perfect balance of tonal quality, playability, and modern technology. With its solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides and back, comfortable neck, and versatile dual-source pickup system, this guitar is an excellent investment for any musician looking for an instrument that can cater to various playing styles and situations.

The AGD-300-CE Garrison acoustic-electric guitar is a popular choice for musicians looking for an affordable and high-quality instrument. This guitar is known for its solid top and laminated body, which is typically made of various types of wood. Let's examine the pros and cons of this guitar, focusing on the wood types used in its construction, and provide a conclusion and recommendation based on our analysis.

**Pros:**

1. **Solid Spruce Top:** The solid spruce top ensures that the guitar delivers clear and bright tones, making it suitable for various playing styles and genres. Spruce tops are the industry standard for acoustic guitars as they provide great sound projection and resonance.

2. **Laminated Body:** The laminated body of the AGD-300-CE is built using layered wood, primarily mahogany or Maple, which offers better durability and stability compared to all-solid bodies. This makes the guitar less susceptible to environmental changes and feedback, making it an ideal choice for those who travel or perform regularly.

3. **Affordable price:** The AGD-300-CE is relatively inexpensive compared to other acoustic-electric guitars in its class. This is mainly due to the use of laminated wood and some other cost-saving features. This makes it a popular choice for beginners or those who want a secondary instrument.

4. **Onboard electronics:** The AGD-300-CE comes with a built-in tuner, preamp, and a 1/4 inch output jack for connecting it to an amplifier or PA system. This is a convenient feature for performers, helping them to easily tune their guitar and achieve a consistent sound in various playing environments.

**Cons:**

1. **Sound Quality:** Due to the laminated body, the AGD-300-CE may not produce the same level of sound quality as a guitar with an all-solid wood body. While it still sounds great, the tone and resonance might not be as rich and complex as that of more expensive instruments.

2. **Action and setup:** Since this is an affordable instrument, the setup and action may not be perfect out of the box. You might need to invest some time and money in getting it adjusted to your playing style and preferences.

3. **Restricted Customization:** Being a budget guitar, you have limited choices when it comes to customization options. This includes the wood types, body shape, and finish. When compared to more expensive models, you might not have as many options for fine-tuning your instrument's tonal characteristics.

**Conclusion:**

In conclusion, the AGD-300-CE Garrison acoustic-electric guitar is an excellent choice for musicians who want an affordable yet high-quality instrument. Its solid spruce top offers clear and bright tones, while the laminated body provides durability and stability. Moreover, the onboard electronics are a convenient feature for performing live. However, it is essential to acknowledge that the sound quality might not be as rich or complex as more expensive instruments with all-solid wood bodies. In summary, if you are a beginner or looking for a secondary instrument and desire a solid top acoustic-electric guitar at an affordable price, the AGD-300-CE is a recommended choice. If you are a professional or an experienced musician who prioritizes superior sound quality and a high level of customization, it might be worth considering investing in a more expensive instrument with an all-solid wood body.

Details:

A single unit provides more unified transmission of vibrations, increase bass response, volume and sustain. It is in part due to her amazing bracing structure: the all new Garrison ag range.

It came without the truss rod cover. I have sold and packed 100s of guitars 10s amps.

The bridge had two shims in with it so I left them when restrung guitar. I did give the truss rod a couple of twists because guitar had been without tension on neck due to no strings for so long and it seemed work fine me.

So, focally I will say that this is in amazing shape and if didn't need the money would keep it for sure. You might want to have an official set up done upon receipt.

I have also been humidifying the guitar since it has sat in az desert humidity for who knows how long. Specs: ash back and sides top, fingerboard, head stock binding Griffith's active top bracing rosewood bridge tremolo fingerboard frets chrome hardware inlays die cast machine heads set neck joint NATO material black pick guard quilted wood full disclosure:when I received the guitar it was without strings. This technology, coupled with more traditional wood en neck blocks, end brings our competitive advantage to a whole new price point. And her tone is equally gorgeous.

The Griffith's active top brace replaces all guitars braces and bridge plate with a single, glass fibre unit. Because I make a habit of under promising and over delivering. I will continue to look for it, but i'm sure can round one up if you're keen have it. Please have a look at my other listings as I many amps and guitars up for sale.

Otherwise, this lady is near mint but i'm not going to say that because someone will come along and point something out I might have missed.
