Product Introduction:

The 710LTd Taylor Guitars Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer is a stunningly beautiful acoustic guitar that showcases Taylor Guitars' exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. First released in 2003, this model features an exquisite combination of Cocobolo and Maple binding, making it a true standout for any guitar collection. In this description, we'll take an in-depth look at the key features, materials, design, and the remarkableplayability of this exceptional Taylor guitar.

Design and Aesthetics:

The Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer boasts an elegant design instrumental in distinguishing Taylor Guitars from their competitors. The guitar's body is built from a solid Sitka Spruce top featuring X-bracing, which ensures optimal sound projection and balance. The nut and saddle are made from bone, providing excellent transfer of energy from the strings to the body of the guitar.

The genuine Cocobolo binding running around the body and Maple binding on the fingerboard combine to create a visually enthralling interface. Cocobolo, a hardwood from Central America, is known for its warm, rich color and unusual figure, giving each guitar a unique look. The Maple binding provides a contrasting element while adding to the overall durability and rigidity of the guitar.

Construction and Playability:

Taylor Guitars have earned a reputation for their innovative construction techniques, and the Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer is no exception. A Venetian cutaway allows access to the upper frets without compromising the structural integrity of the body. This guitar features a standard Taylor neck shape and scale length of 25.5 inches, providing a comfortable playing experience for various playing styles, hand sizes, and skill levels.

The guitar utilizes a bridge truss rod, making set-up and neck adjustments easy and precise. Additionally, the Tusq X bridge, which functions as a synthetic bone saddle, makes string changes and intonation adjustments a breeze. The evenly spaced, jumbo frets made of nickel-silver reduce finger wear and create excellent clarity and definition in the tone.

Sound and Tone:

The sound and tone Produced by the Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer are as visually stunning as its design is beautiful. The solid Sitka Spruce top and X-bracing work together to deliver a powerful, balanced sound, with a rich, warm midrange and note-for-note clarity. The maple neck and cocobolo binding impart a resonance and sustain that accentuates the guitar's unique voice. The guitar's tonal characteristics make it suitable for various playing styles, from fingerpicking to strumming.

Conclusion:

The 710LTd Taylor Guitars Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer is a magnificent work of art that offers an unparalleled playing experience. Its striking combination of Cocobolo and Maple binding, coupled with Taylor Guitars' renowned craftsmanship and innovative design, results in a visually captivating and versatile acoustic guitar. From the moment you lay your eyes on it to the first time you strum its strings, the Cocobolo/Maple Binding 2003 Strummer is an unforgettable piece that demands to be played and cherished.

Details:

As with most of Taylor's high-end, limited editions, it did not come a pick guard to show off the beautiful steak spruce top but when was new, I added clear, static-cling vinyl so there are absolutely no scratches on. I also own a composite acoustics guitar which plays just as nice the Taylor but doesn't come close to beautiful tone. I really hate to sell it but have recently retired and my wife are attempting reduce some of the stuff we acquired over years.

The pick guard is nearly invisible and can be easily removed no adhesive re-applied although it takes a little time with your fingernail or to work out air bubbles. I played it mostly in when was on the worship team at our previous church but has not been since, other than to get out every few months check tuning. The ebony fret board has abalone snowflake markers. This is a truly beautiful guitar I took over 50 pictures to get group that hopefully show the details in wood.

It has the Taylor expression system pickup and preamps, tuners nt neck design. It has always been stored in the case with proper humidification. I removed the batteries from pre-amp years ago to protect potential battery leaks.

Steak spruce top is edged with abalone and the sides have a narrow strip of sap wood at edge that really sets it off beautifully. Cocobolo back sides with maple binding on the body fret board and a curly strip. Also included are two sets of elixir strings, a very nice leather strap, capo, dammit humidifier and homemade. The top is flat and neck straight.

There are no nicks or scratches anywhere on the guitar case has a few light scuff marks. I purchased it new, in 2003 from the local Taylor dealer has been played very little and is excellent condition.
