The guitar's fretboard is made from advanced Pau Ferro material, which closely resembles ebony in appearance and offers excellent tonal qualities. It has a 16-inch (406.4 mm) radius, and the dragonfly inlay pattern adorning the inlays adds a visually striking touch.
For the electric enthusiasts, the Ovation 1615-1 is equipped with a superior pickup system: the OP-Pro undersaddle pickup and the preamp system. This electronics package ensures incredibly pure and articulate amplified tone, making it an excellent choice for live performances, recording sessions, and practicing silently with headphones.
Additionally, the guitar comes equipped with a rosette with pickguard, enhanced tuning stability thanks to the Fender Dura-Tone tuning machines, and a conveniently located soundhole mounted rotary control for modifying the onboard preamp.
In summary, the Ovation 1615-1 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a magnificent instrument for musicians seeking to avail themselves of a resonant, powerful 12-string acoustic sound with the additional versatility of amplified electric capabilities.
